Ok...posting for a buddy of mine.  He has an '06 620 that when he rides it in the rain it doesn't like to idle.  Any other time the bike runs freakin sweet.  The bike has Akrapovic high mounts with an open airbox as the the only mod as far as the engine goes.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Idles rough, or cuts in and out?

Chopped airbox lid, no lid, pods? Any way he'd be dripping water into the intake with his setup?

If it's not that, or if ignition cuts in and out, maybe a bit of wiring needs a good going over with dielectric grease.

(Don't worry, smarter minds will come along shortly.)

From what I understand the airbox is only slightly cut open.  Also I don't believe it dies completely just idles really low and he cranks up the fast idle to raise the idle up.

I wonder if you could get an old spray bottle with some water in it and spray different parts of the bike when it is dry.  You could get lucky and reproduce the problem when a certain part of the bike is sprayed.  Maybe a sensor that acts up when it is wet?

make sure the connection at the engine case ground wire is tight and corrosion-free
it's the 13mm bolt that terminates a wire screwed into the engine case, near the rear brake master cylinder

Low idle in the rain? Hm...

This problem is smarter than me. [roll]

Maybe take Bill's advice, and extend it to spraying water onto the filter. Worst case scenario is failing to reproduce the problem, and having clean the filter and wait for things to dry out...

My guess is still that water is somehow getting into the fuel/air, as I'd think it'd be of an intermittent cutting out if it were electrical.
