I won't ride with that group. *Every ride* I went on with them, someone crashed - and often made others crash. Irresponsible.
I'm sure there are nice folks in there, but that group showed me some seriously dangerous group dynamics and truly hazardous riding.

It was accident-free, as far as I know. Ryan and I got back alive, but we split to go home early (so I can't speak for everyone who went).

We did, however, almost get into two accidents right after we left the meeting place. We went through old-people country and they are killers. One old woman was actually driving down the wrong side of the road without realizing it.  Shocked

Anyway, it was a really good ride (after that). The desert flowers are in bloom and the view from the road was beautiful.

Yes sir! Glad I missed the first drama! Was a beautiful ride and perfect weather! Sorry for leading so slowly, I'm a bit rusty!

Not at all, that's about as fast as I go (at least until I get my new springs in).

Wait, was your ride this morning?

If not, when were you going to go?

I could probably swing a Wednesday morning ride. The 20th, right?

What did you have in mind? Tortilla Flat? South Mountain? Winkelman would be fun. So would Payson.

Depending on where you start, the Winkleman loop is about 180 miles.

The scenery on the trip to and from Winkleman is uniquely Arizona. If you've never been, then you really must go.

My preference would be to leave early, go to Globe, then Winkleman, and then stop in Superior for breakfast. There's a cool little cafe that opens early called BuckBoard City Cafe.

Ryan, I gotta buddy who could come with us if we leave after 12pm.

If the weather is cool, I don't mind a late start. In fact, it helps keep the sun out of my eyes.

Although, that's the thing -- current weather report puts a "chance of thunderstorms" on Wednesday.

And we don't have to go as far as Winkelman. I'd be up for lunch at Tortilla Flat or something more local.

Darn!

I may have to skip this week cause someone needs a race car set up at Chandler Speed Shop tomorrow.  I've been riding the last few days and I forget how much fun it is!  I have a new rear tire too!
