depends on what angle you want the cans at.

You may have to cut and 'pie' in the headers if you need to drop them for passenger considerations.

thanks for the info DP...........there's a set of nice ducati performance cf cans locally that I could pick up really cheap. They are off a 99ss and I'm thinking of picking them up and finding a way to mod them for my 01 900.

The cans alone will be easier to fit than headers.

It may be as simple as a band and strut for mounting to the frame.
