Neewbie here....2007 Monster S2R1000

I am looking to purchase a 2007 Monster S2R 1000 but....the only way I would do it is if I can get rid of that ugly exhaust. I've searched all the websites and the only thing I can come up with that I like is the Boom Tubes, or just cut the exhaust off after the Cat. My question is can I just add the Boom Tubes, or cut the exhaust off, or will I need to do something with the ECU? I know there are 1000's of posts already made about this but I can't find a simple answer. i'm not looking to race the bike, and I think it already has enough power so I'm not worried about upgrading for the sake of more power. I just want to get rid of the ugle exhaust without hurting the bike. So....can anyone help me out? I should also state that I live in South Dakota so I don't have access to a dyno. Any custom mapping would have to be done out of state. The bike is for sale on Omaha so I might be able to get somehting done at the dealer??? Sorry for the long post.......

You can just disconnect the stock s-pipes from the 'udder' and run the bike that way. Some folks do, and there's been mixed reports of impacts on the bikes running. Obviously, that's the cheapest way being free.
Boomtubes will cost you more, but you get rid of that rather ugly collector box/cat and some pounds.
If you're just swapping out the exhaust, you should not need to do anything like an ECU or powercommander. If you added a higher flowing air filter and opened up the air box lid - then you'd be looking at ways to adjust the fueling.

Most people dont like the Cat, so they replace with a mid-pipe and exhaust. If you really dont mind the Cat, then removing the pipes really doesn't affect the performance much. I did however notice some so-so poor running conditions. Nothing that will be unbearable, but this may require some tuning. The noise will DEFINATELY be louder.
