Just back from service...

I just got the 6k service on my 05 M620. It has 4k on it but I wanted to get the belts done (bought it used) and figured might as well get the 6K. The dealer did it in about 4 hours and when I left the bike ran magnificently. The mechanic said the valves were in specs and that everything looked great.

I know that this is not an exciting post for most of you but I'm really stoked about the way the bike runs and feel good that it checked out fine. I almost feel like it's a new bike.

The only bad thing is that the dealer had a boat load of inventory and is willing to deal. I sat on an 848 evo that looked brilliantly. Hmmmm...

Like turf said. ie is the designator for fuel injected. The Italian is "injection electronique" or something similar. I forget the specific verbiage. When they still made a 900 it was a way to differentiate the older carbie models from the newer fuelies.

And I know exactly what you mean. It could be all in your head, but it always seems like they run better right after you sacrifice a cow to the Ducati Gods.  [thumbsup]  I got mine back from Eric at Clubhouse after the 6k service and it was like a new bike, only better, cause he'd pulled the charcoal canister off.  [beer]

If you rode an 848 that would likely seal the deal.  Especially coming from a 620 and that's not dissing a 620. The 848 riding position is a bit more aggressive but if you are used to a Serotta then you've got that covered too.

That's what I'm afraid of... the aggressive position doesn't bother me a bit. As you say, riding a road racing bicycle really puts you in an agressive position and I can do 100 miles on it with no problem (couple of stops over the 5 1/2 ride).

I love the Monster for my daily comment and really don't "need" an 848. But when did need ever factor into things!?

620 to 848 would be a HUGE upgrade!  The ensuing excitement may result in improper fitment between you and the gas tank  :-P

If I recall correctly, it's "iniezione elettronica", which literally means electronic injection.
