S2R vs S4R fork Q's
«

Obvious differences aside (full adjustability anyone?) what are the differences in upper leg and lower leg between the two models? I know they both have the same triple diameter and (maybe I'm wrong here) the same caliper spacing, but say there was a wrecked set on ebay with a very very slightly dented upper or lower what would be the possibiliy of swapping bits off of my non-adjustable suspenders to the "bad" ones? They're off the same year S4 as my S2 so I'm hoping to just get the front end knocked out while it's still up on the stand for winter.
Edit: S4 forks are Showas. Didn't they use Marzocchis on the 05 S2R800?

Assuming you mean '05 S4R and '05 S2R800....
Lowers won't swap, as the bolt that goes up through the bottom to attach the damper cartridge is different.
S2R is a more or less regular bolt, S4R has the compression adjuster needle valve assembly in the 'bolt'.
I'm pretty sure the uppers won't swap either.
