I have a buddy who has always had an affinity for outdoor activities and the things that go along with such hobbies. So for this Christmas, I found something right up his alley and it got me wondering what items others have that they wouldn't venture into the outdoors without.

Here's what I got for him:

That's pretty cool.  My only problem is it wouldn't be able to reach the bottom of the Mountain House food bags I take camping.
