Trying to remove the trip reset knob from a 2000 M750 speedometer in order to place the gauges back on the stock M750 housing and bracket.

Anyway, there appears to be a very small screw down in the knob, and a #0 phillips seems to fit, but after spinning, and spinning the screw has yet to come out.  Does the screw require an even small phillips drive or is it some type of Torx or ??

Thanks in advance.

Probably a metric hex
Ahh...could be, didn't try any hex bits yet. I did do a run to Home Depot and got a set of micro torx bits , none of which fit and and a #00 phillip bit, which also didn't seem to fit.

Thanks for the reminder.

Happy New Year!

On my 2000 m750 it takes a micro/jeweler's phillips bit.  This includes the two previous dashboards destroyed.

My screw is gone, so the knob just falls out.

A #000 phillips bit seems to work, at least until it broke (quality Crapsman junk).  It's loose, but not quite out, as the PO seems to have mangled the screw and I've not done it any good trying out multiple tips.  At least it's almost out.
