Frustration

Waiting for delivery of a new 1100abs...

Have exbox, clutch cover, tail and a couple other bits to run ahead, so it should be landed in a few days.

The blinkers are dang big...  The tail tidy will be simple enough, but the headlight monted blinks look a little funky.

Has anyone pulled and replaced theres and if so will most stalks just plug it?  are there any bits I'll likely need?

And...  Are there any booby traps in there that you fell in to but can yell about so I avoid em???

Thanks,

And Hi...  New to the monster but run a Hyper already (and older)

Easy take apart. Two bolts on the bottom either side, and one directly on top. Then lift the light to remove it. Unplug connectors and take it to your bench to remove the signals. Depending what you are replacing it with it may bolt direct or require an adapter/spacer.

Also if you can take the spacers out of the front blinkers it shortens them about an inch. All you have to buy is 2 shorter screws and your done.

That item will be key. Most aftermarket signals come with bullet style connectors that *were* universal, and definitely worked on older Ducs/Monsters. But the new generation uses the box type connector seen at the other end of that adaptor. So Unless you feel like cutting up the harness, that will be the way to go.

or you can just cut the connectors off of your old turn signals and use those, since most people won't find a use for the old turn signals anyway and they don't command too much money on ebay.
