Removing top triple on 696

I'm trying to pull all my parts off my 696 to send to the powdercoater and I'm stuck on the top triple.  How the heck do I remove it?  Do I need to loosen the steering stem nut?  And if so, do I need a special tool for that?  Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, I should have just looked in the manual before asking this question.  I missed one of the screws on the back of the triple which is why it wasn't budging when I hit it with a rubber mallet.  Problem solved.
