Also, I absolutely love the exhaust on the second car.

That was make the beast with two backsing awesome!! Never saw the post before!! That is the ad of the year. [thumbsup] Loved the old F1 cars. Reminds me of seeing Grand Prix the movie with James Garner, Eve Marie Saint, etc... when I was a kid. Maybe '66? Made my Mom take me to see it. Dad wouldn't go. [bang] Great old flick and a great current ad! [clap] Makes me want to fill up at a Shell. ;D
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

I love how the exhaust note changes from a deep, throaty brooaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAA

to a wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Pretty sure I've seen that elsewhere, but it's still damned cool.  [thumbsup]

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Best commercial ever.

Glad you liked it!

We saw Grand Prix when it first played in Los Angeles at the Cinerama Dome in 66.  We're from Argentina...it was a family outing  [thumbsup]

And I still have the original program.

Ad of the year when it came out 4 years ago maybe.   ;)

Still love watching that commercial though.   [thumbsup]

its an old ad that basically anyone who is a "car or motorcycle person" will like if they like engines, if someone can't hear the beauty that is the change of the f-1 cars from the 50s to the 2000s then they really have no taste   [laugh]

i love how even the first f1 car in the commercial even though its old has "the sound" that you would expect from a ferrari or a race car.

its cool to hear how the car's rpm as it went up by literally thousands of rpm each decade of car made it go from a rumble to a high pitched whining sound, but it still even the modern cars (with them being v8 and not v12) still sound the way a race car should.

The exhaust note of that first old F1 is the most epic of wins in a long glorious history of epic wins.
