Yup, be ready to at least inspect your brackets every once in a while or just straight up loose your license plate or tail light.  I caught mine doing some rewiring so thankfully I didn't have to explain to the officer what happened to my brake light Smiley

Regardless of the radius of the bend, any bending in the metal is going to work harden the steel causing it to become more brittle.  A gentle radius may work better than a sharp one, but it's also gonna look kind of funny (IMO) and still have the same wear properties due to the poor quality of the steel.

Never thought I'd say this...  FAIL FTW!   laughingdp

I like your ingenuity of solving a problem with the simplest solution possible.  Couple years ago, I took off the license holder/mud flop thingy and made a new license holder with 2 L brackets.  It worked just fine.

I guess I should clarify that the only bends I added were for the plate holding sections, the actual L brackets were bent and notched from factory.

While it's still raining here I'm cleaning that rear section almost daily so i will monitor it for a few weeks.

Thats hilarious I used the same L brackets for my bikes tail light, I used some locking nuts after mine backed off on a ride home and have been good for over 10,000 miles and still going strong.  Best 1.79 I ever spent.
