Your description describes exactly the degree of oil leakage I was getting (and weirdly still occasionally do get - not every time the bike is run.... only... sometimes).

the small oil leak on my 1100 turned out to be a faulty base gasket on the rear cylinder. if it's under warranty i'd say just bring it in and let them fix it. most oil leaks only get worse over time, so you don't want to wait until it's out of warranty. the tech at my dealer said he's seen this happen a few times with the DS motors.
