Am I over heating?

I think I'm overheating.

The left fan kicks in at about 224f; the right fan kicks in a couple of degrees higher. I believe the first fan should kick in nearer to 212... boiling point... Is this normal for an S4R, or should I look for a problem?

The bike runs excellent, but I'm concerned...

What is your experience?

Thanks,

Boiling point should be higher under pressure.  Numbers on the dash are not necessarily accurate.

Must be pretty hot where you are.  I have never even reached 200 F on my S4R.  I live in South Carolina.  I have seen about 195 at the highest sitting at several lights in a row but that is rare and in over 100 F weather with lots of sunshine.  Even at that as soon as I move the temp drops nice and fast.

AFAIK, that's about right for fan kick-in, maybe a bit high but well within tolerances.

Speeddog,

Thanks for the info. I was checking at stand-still. I had a tractor accident resulting in a badly broken collar-bone... so I can't ride for a while. I'll be seeing you soon, though.

my best to you-
