Ok, so we have a "mod day/diy" thread, but we didn't have a thread dedicated to what your future plans were.  So here we go...

This is from the Daytona forum and something I plan on adding to my SE in the very near future.

So I called SouthSeas and they can't even schedule my bike (..they told me to call next friday to see if they have an opening Sad ) ...so since saturday is open I figure I'll get to chopping the bike's tail (...any pointers?) after reading the HOW-TO it looks pretty straight forward...I got the Clear Alternatives integrated taillight and all of the tools to do it (...don't have a sawall/dremel but I read that a small pipe cutter makes a cleaner cut) so I'll let you guys know how it goes

A word of warning:  the integrated taillight is not within the letter of the law and may not pass safety.  I'm not sure how some bikes get away with it and some don't, but at SS it don't.

What red key?

gonna do the mirrors and tank pad today.  Speaking of which, do I just yank the current bar ends off?  They look like a plastic plug rather than a true bar end.

correct. I think.

but really, even if it is just a plastic plug, it covers the end of the bar, thus it is a true bar end Wink

The bar ends that came stock on my S2R were a two piece metal set-up that included a bolt going from the outside of the weight into the two pieces.  You tighten the bolt and it makes the two pieces slide against each other, on the sloped sides, causing tension and making them stay put.
