I was looking for new relays as spares 'coz I often ride alone out in the sticks and have read on DMF about folk being stranded with relay failures.

Damm auto spares counter staff get glazed eyes when I tell 'em I need something for a motorcycle.............. ya knows wot I mean.

Anyways finally found a auto electrician who sold me two generics which were a little taller and wider than the original Siemens items.

Last thing he said as I was leaving - they're 25 amp rather than the more common 15 amp. OK I thought, that's good, bigger must be better.

They fit and are working perfect but now I'm wondering if maybe higher amp relays are not a good thing in my 2000 M900ie Monster ? ?

And should I change the 15 amp fuses in those two circuits to 25 amp ? ?

I don't know for sure, but I think it's the amperage that the relay is designed to handle, so you're fine.  Don't change the fuses.

The amperage rating is the max for the relay.

The fuses are rated to protect the wiring in your bike.

Don't change them.
