I think in Cali motos can have a maximum of six characters, though.   

Vehicles have seven, so maybe for my truck next February.   

Seven.  And it's available. Go to dmv.ca.gov to order it. It cost the same regardless of when your reg is due. You order it, they make it, and then you pick it up (months later) at your local DMV. You then give them your old plate and have the new one assigned to your bike. You then pay an extra fee every year to keep it.

You could go the antagonistic route like I did and get plates along these lines...

 However, I am sure you're not feeling that bold.  

Your bike is all black, plates that say Stealth Bomber would be fitting.  Not sure how to get that down to six characters though.  Of my fav would be one that said DUCHNT
