I need some bullet connectors to finish off the S4rt project.  You know, the ones on the blinkers?  I looked yesterday at several auto parts places, and summit racing.....nothing.

I was looking for something local that I could walk in and compare.  If anyone knows what will work from digikey.com or something like that, please post up!  Last part before I can go ride this thing  [bang] [bang]

I guess I should clarify that I need (or want) something that will work with the factory connectors.  I might just have to forgo that and use something else.

Neither NAPA or shack (at least here) have something that will work.

Mines were just the smaller variety that the local hardware store carries with the blue or red plastic piece on the crimp end.  I just removed the plastic piece, crimped, soldered, & shrink wrapped .

They were nothing special, just smaller than the most common ones.

I have the perfect fix. Now, some of you may think this is slip-shod, but the fit is absolutely perfect and I've had exactly zero problems.

Go to NAPA, Radio Shack or where ever they sell solderless, crimp, style butt connectors. Take a razor blade and remove the insulation. Be careful. I think it was the blue connectors that were the right size. Crimp or solder your wire on one side and slip the other end into the female connector.

I understand there's no "click" into place, but the fit is so perfect and snug, I am not the slightest bit worried.

If you have a concern, use heat-shrink tubing along with the above method.

This is how I made my connections when converting to an integrated tail/turn-signal light.

No kidding, it works perfectly.

Those things are terrible compared to even a simple blade connector. Every odd electrical quirk I've had on the bike had to do with those godforsaken things.

I picked mine up at ACE Hardware. They have many things that others don't. I can spend all day in the fastener section.

I get all sorts of connectors from Easternbeaver.com

I agree with the post above about bullet connectors.  There are loads of alternatives.  Check out Easternbeaver (they carry bullet connectors too).

Shipments from Japan take about a week to reach Raleigh, NC.

Ain't that the truth :)

The only thing I think the factory bullet connectors have going for them than the cruddy spade connectors you get from Lowe's, etc, is a modicum of weather resistance.  Other than that, like Artful said, I've had tons of problems with the solder joints and even the wires breaking on the stock connectors.  I'm running sans clutch switch for now, but when I redo the wiring on the front end, I'll be redoing every connector up there.
