Hey fellas,

Looking to do an oil change so I went down the street to Coleman and wasn't all that impressed with the oil selection. Mostly Repsol. Heard Mobile 1 MX4T is the way to go with my 2007 Monster S4R.

Any truth to this? Repsol any good? What are you guys running and where in the DC area are you getting it/filters from?

Thanks!
Jim

Repsol is fine.

Advance Auto has Mobil1 4T (and Castrol's new Power RS Racing full synth 4t)

You cannot go wrong with Mobil1 or Castrol's 4t products.

use the 10w40.  15w40 would be preferable but I don't know any maker who sells 4t oil in the US in 15w40

Filters you can order online, see my filter link for info in my sig below

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I use AMSOIL usually, but this last time, I used some Motul that came for free....

Thanks fellas!  Never thought to just run over to Advance Auto and have them order things if not in stock.  I know they carry both Mobil and K&N... no reason they can't special order oil/filters for me.

Thanks again,
Jim

+1 on Advance Auto, so far I've always bought Mobil 1 (10-40) from them.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

Yep - they will have the mobil oil in stock most times. And they can order up the K&N filter. It's part # 153 if I remember correctly.

The one thing(s) you can't get at Advance is the crush washers for the drain plug and pump screen. Colemans will have them, and they are cheep. $5 worth should last you years.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
