Leaking at oil-pressure sender

So the monster has been spewing out oil from the oil-pressure sender on the right side engine case intermittently on my last few rides.  I tried band-aiding it with RTV and even swapped in a new seal, but alas, the leak continues.  It appears to be leaking from the junction of the switch itself and the plug on the wiring harness, even despite the new seal...

I recall reading on here that replacement of the sensor is indicated in the event of a leak, true?

I had a similar issue with mine.

On mine, it ended up being that the sender unit casting ridges deformed the o-ring just enough to let some slip past, resulting in a slow leak and some spattering.

Carefully sanded down the casting ridges to give the o-ring a smooth surface to seal on and haven't had a problem since.

Might be a different issue on yours, but it's worth a shot.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

It's not at all unheard of for the internal seal on the pressure sender to fail. The sender is a sealed unit, so anything inside and you're a bit hosed. On the good side, a new sender isn't expensive.

I had the internal seal on my sender give it up on the way back from deals gap, and I had about the same symptoms as what you describe.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Hmm, now that I think about it from that perspective...  It must be the internal seal, because I've got oil coming through up where the electrical contacts are - and that can't be right.

Yep - sounds like that internal seal.

You are dealing with oil under pressure.  Band aids will not work and the leak will get worse.  The fix is a new sending unit.

Mine leaked out of the same place.  Replaced the unit (not expensive) and the problem was gone.
