I'll be in Ireland (and Northern Ireland) for a couple weeks in the near future.

So far I have "watch the Northwest 200" and "Visit the St. James Gate brewery" on the list.

I figure I'll rent a car or something, and wander around a bit.

What are the must-sees, and must-dos of Ireland and Ulster?

The original Jameson distillery is in Dublin and they do tours.  Not sure if they still do tastings, though.  Kilmainham gaol is pretty cool.  I kinda liked the zoo too.  As for the Guinness brewery, they don't do tours of the brewery itself.  They have what they call the Guinness Hop Store.  Kinda neat and you get a pint, or 2, at the end.

Drink, fight, drink, eat a potato, drink, drink, drink, fight a potato.

If there was anymore to do than that they wouldn't have all come to America in the mid 1800s.

back in 2007 ,The Dirty Rotten Bastards  ( the motorbike I am in) went to the isle of Man for the 100th TT Rces.We all met up in Dublin. What a nite that was...
We went to The Temple Bar.....The crowd was great .There was a band playing....picture this....the drummer drumming, the piper piping, the fiddler fiddling(with his .......... [laugh]) The singer singing, ......girls were doing traditional dances, people smiling and laughing and talking, lovers gazing into each others eyes, and then there was us. The Bastards....we were putting away the beer like no tomorrow. The booze was flowing that night, Guinness, Smithwicks, Jamiesons and a plethora of others .The music was awesome the dancing fine, the laughter and sounds.......it was like living in a visa commercial. Hands down the most wonderful night of my life ever.......................e v e r ! Being with my best friends in such a wonderful place in time was the most memorable evening ever. I hold that memory dearer than any other in my life...and no one can ever take it from me.
Going to The Temple Bar changed my life, it affirmed to me that to be happy you must be true to yourself first and foremost. [thumbsup]
Dublin is an awesome city enjoy it while you can.

Guiness + Jameson is a good stop.

Cliffs of Moher (on the other side of the island) is gorgeous

If you have a vehicle, there is a pretty cool scenic road through the Burren region (not much there but rock formations, but still cool).

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it
