I recently purchased a 2007 s2r 1000. Love the bike but hate the utter atrocity that is on it. After looking around, I decided on Marvin headers from monster parts. This will be first mod on this specific monster and my first time ever dealing with an exhaust. I am excited as it should be delivered later today. I will be taking video of before and after.

I have read a few write ups, but is there anything I need to play close attention to while doing this mod? I'm also still looking for slip ons for the bike. Any suggestions for a some that maintain the high shotgun look?

I had Marving mid-pipe on my S2R800.  The one thing I would suggest is get an additional set of seals.  I know when I changed out my stock udder, the seals were pretty worn and I needed new ones.  Your udder is one piece vs. mine being two so I needed two seals.  You may need only one but I would just keep one handy.

Here's mine with a Marving mid-pipe and 2-in-1 exhaust.

Here's a pic with just the mid-pipe

Here it is completed.

The S2R 1000 doesn't use the donut gaskets of the S2R 800 and S4R bikes.

update, exhaust just got here. Being excited for my shiny new part, I am looking out the window every ten seconds for a ups truck. This has been going on for about 4 hours. Finally, relief as I see a ups truck slowing down. Excitement as I run to the door. I'm ready to climb into the truck myself to find it. Unfortunately, the poor excuse for a ups driver pulls into the neighbors house. Maybe I he doesn't have my package. I continue to watch him bring out a sad looking box out of the truck. It is the right size, must be mine.

I start to jog over there. I get to the end of my driveway and realize I don't have my wallet. About face and I run inside, grab my wallet, and head back over. I am half way there when I see the neighbor gingerly carrying the poor box back to the truck and pointing at my house. Thank god, it must be mine.

I meet the driver about halfway up their driveway and notice the condition of the "box". This no longer can really be considered a box. It appears as if they used it to play soccer in an apocalypse. Smells like a dog may have pissed on it. The bubble wrap is hanging out of the corner of the box. My exhaust better not be damaged.

I grab the "box" from the driver as he apologized. Right now I don't care much about what he has to say. The box goes under my arm and I sprint back to my house. I set the box on my porch. No way this foul smelling container is going inside house. The box literally falls apart as I open it. Careful inspection of my exhaust proves it has no damage. Thank you Monsterparts for wrapping the exhaust up very well with packaging bubbles.

I will start the install of it tonight. I am gonna do videos and pics and will post again soon.

Header installed, wasn't that bad to do. Total weight savings of about 6 pounds. The sound is soooooo much better. I will have some before and after pictures and videos.

LOL awesome story. I had a package delivered by UPS to a neighbor's house just last week, despite the large gold numerals denoting the house number hanging on the front stoop. Address on the package was correct. I know UPS drivers aren't necessarily geniuses, but really now.  [bang]
And if it's not marked 'FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE' the 'throwers' play football with it before delivery.

I too have an S2R 1K, and I was considering the Marving header. You said it sounded better. Did it sound better with the stock cans? Did you notice any performance issues? Mine runs so well with the stock exhaust that I'm a bit aprehensive about changing anything.  ???

It does sound better even with the stock cans. The only performance issue I have found so far is that it pops on decel

Thanks! Mine pops a bit on decel even with the complete stock set up.
