What do you guys think of the FZ8??  It looks pretty damn cool.  Not a bad price tag either at $8,500.  Not a fan of the low mount exhaust but I'm sure there is an aftermarket high or tail mount out there.

saw one in person and loved it

Meh. It would be nice if they could put some effort into styling the radiator instead of plugging he standard rectangular radiator up front.  It was reviewed recently in Cycle World with a couple other naked bikes. It scored last.

I test rode one. Power was substantial and easy to use, handling was crisp, and it was quite comfortable. My only gripes are how generic it looks and they could have used better componentry. Basically it is a direct competitor with the Street Triple and it doesn't compare. Otherwise it's an amazing bike.

Save your money and buy the Street Triple R [moto]

Ditto. For the money the Street Triple R is the better buy by far. Sad thing is, I used to have an '03 FZ1, and when I got it, it listed for about what an FZ8 does now, and I got it for $1000 less.
What do I type here again?

Had a 2008 FZ6 for 2.5 years and 11k miles (mostly city). It was a terrific bike. Was comfortable two up, large fuel tank and fuel gauge, awesome brakes, very strong top end, and excellent reliability. It would take me 15 minutes to change the oil. I sold it because I wanted something different. The low end was lacking and the 1-2 gear change was clunky. I still loved it. The FZ8 supposedly has a much stronger low end and the transmission is improved.  I like the looks of the naked better, but not excited about a two piece pillon seat and the exhaust (FZ6 was an underseat beautiful exhaust).  I am sure you could get it for less than $8.5k. I agree that Stripple is a much more exciting ride, but is also more frantic.
