Motion Pro cable luber

Anyone use one of these on there 2000 era throttle cables? I can't seem to get a good seal on the octagonal fitting on the end of the cable sheathing.

Any tricks to this?

can you get on the small round fitting on the cable sheath?

That's the only place it will seal.
