Recently there was a thread where a bold person had modified their fuel tank by chopping the rear section so that it resembled one of the Road Racing tanks.

Does anybody recall that thread?  What was it called?

would love to see this.  would similarly be interested in seeing one made from aluminum with similar road-racing shape by beaters in japan, or other manufacturer - or instead of aluminum, an ETI carbon/kevlar with the road-racing shape.   Emphasis on "road-racing tank shape" and secondary focus on lighter weight material.

In the thread I'm thinking of the guy had chopped a steel tank. It definitely wasn't an aluminum tank.

Figured it was not, but I'd be interested in such a thing.

It is a nice bike by the way.  Just can't dig the audio on the first video.

Seriously, I don't know how I could be so forgetful  :-[.  I guess I was thinking it wasn't a video but was just a thread with pictures.

No, but I did have a little trouble remembering how to shift the other day.  I had the opportunity to ride a friend's 1968 Kawasaki W2 for an afternoon. The W2 has a different shift pattern.  Later I rode my Monster home and I kept wanting to press down on the gear selector when I wanted to shift up and vice versa.  [bang]. It only to took one ride to get that out of my system though. I was cured next day.

Nothing quite like finding 5th gear at a stop light.  Car horn orchestra.
