i have an m800. since i aquired it its had a sticky throttle. once past the first bight off idle its fine. i assumed cable and kinda learned to live with it till i could get around to sorting it. well that time has come and i think its sticky butterflies now!

the cable is lubed and free, the throttle grip tube is free and smooth (its a g2), ive pulled down the tb's and gave them a thorough clean and all back together its still sticky. ive found that if i wind in the throttle idle stops to prevent the butterflies from going full close i have damn near the best feeling throttle imaginable (i have a electreon tb cam on it too). the problem is even with the idle end stops wound out i can only manage an idle of 1500rpm. with them wound in enough to prevent the stick im i lucky to keep it under 1750rpm!

would a light polish of the tb's possibly help this? could it be an issue with the IAC valve or an idle setting in the tune that is holding the IAC open too much? is there an IAC? thinking bout it now i dont recall seeing one but surely there is!?!

hmmmm... i was hoping this was a common problem i simply didnt know about yet, and that i would come back to find a million replies full of easy fixes!

You should get an idle around 1200.  Possibly someone adjusted the stops to compensate for something else out of whack.  I'd take it to a shop
2000 Monster 900Sie, a few changes
1992 900 SS, currently a pile of parts.  Now running
flogged successfully  NHMS  12 customized.  Twice.   T3 too.   Now retired.
