Immobilizer problem

Hey fellow DMFers, here is a new problem.  I dropped my bike off at a local repair place; they were replacing the handlebars and the IMMOBILIZER engaged.  I have the red key but I do not have the Code Card for it because I bought the bike from a friend and they never gave it to me.  Is there a way to disengage the immobilizer without using the code?  Can I call Ducati to give me a new code if I give them my VIN #?  thanks for the help.

Did you ever get this resolved?  I thought the red key will work if the bike was immobilized?
