Wondering if anyone can help.  I'm running a S2R 1K with just the cat [no cans] and a Fat Duc.  There is no open airbox.  I just put in new plugs 2 weeks ago...  and got stranded last night when it wouldn't start.  I took the plugs to find out that they were wet with gas.  Some plugs were more wet than others...   so after switching them around it fired up.  The bike ran fine in the morning commute and for an hour mid-afternoon.

Am I running too rich with the cans off or is this something else?
Also, a ecu flash w/custom map is on my list of things to do...  wondering if that should solve the problem.
...  or should I put the cans back on and call it a day.

Any help would be great.  Thanks

It is something else, Patrick.  The lack of cans would lead to lean, not rich.  If you get the bike up to ECS  http://www.europeancycleservices.com/ they will take of the reflash plus TPS and and CO trim.  If you have the funds they can do a power commander with a custom dyno map.

Isn't the point of the fat duc to richen the mix? Maybe it's malfunctioning. I'd try removing it first and seeing what happens. If the plugs go back to being white due to lean stock condition then you found the issue. Try making sure the tiny adjuster is set correctly on it.

Might be injector pintles stuck or clogged open, but all of them at the same time is unlikely. In any event there is a guy that rebuilds them for $16 apiece.

Running with the stock mufflers off won't do anything noticeable with everything else being stock.

Getting the stock ECU flashed will allow you to ditch the Fat Duc (which is a bandaid and not a robust solution to the lean Ducati problem).
