Annual Fly Fishing trip on Au Sable River

We take this trip each year and for the past 3 my son is able to get in the water with us. Its fun to see how he has progressed at it and how much fun he has. Sorry for the crappy cellphone pics, wife had good camera for the weekend.

What amazing was we saw a Bald Eagle do a flyby one morning. Never seen one in the wild before and certainly not that far south in the Lower Pennisila.

Saw this driving up...thought of Dolph and had to post.

Pretty good pics for a cell phone and a great looking area.
What are you all trying to catch?

I have to be honest, I hate UM with a passion but damn is Michigan a pretty state.  And even though she's a whore Ann Arbor is a very very cool city.

The scenary in those pictures is beautiful.

Awesome!! My kind of fishing. [thumbsup] I'm not a boat/lake kind of guy. Closest river fishing like that around me is in southeast OK or the White River area in AR. Our annual family vacation takes us to my family's cabin north of Cimarron, NM. Always look forward to a little trout fishing when we go. [beer]

We see the occasional bald eagle on our spring break runs to Beavers Bend State Park in SE OK. They even winter just north of DFW on Lake Ray Roberts. Neat stuff.
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Trout, its only catch and release though. This perticular stretch is called the "Holy water". Its near Gates Lodge which is well known in the flyfishing community.

We are a State family, so no talk of UofM for us either, but yes, Ann Arbor is a great little city.
