Hi

I own a Ducati Monster 1100 Evo.

I have an *occasional* clinking sound coming out from the engine/clutch immediately after I squeeze the clutch lever mostly when I ride on the 1st and 2nd gear.

Our local dealer says this is normal behavior for a slipper clutch, however i had the same?! slipper clutch on my monster 696 and never heard such a noise before.

Please advise,

David

I think I heard this for the 1st time today on my Evo.  It was different but didn't sound "bad."  I'd be interested to find out what it is though.

Hmm, interesting. I haven't noticed this on my Evo. Then again, it's got other gremlins I gotta worry about... :(

to me more accurate I'd say that you more "feel" it than hear it...

Those gremlins make that bike so special :)

I think the 696 and Evo clutches, although both slipper, are of different types. So having different sounds might be expected.

Not an EVO 1100, but the APTC slipper on my S2R800 does something similar. I wouldn't worry about it. Normal stuff.

they updated the aptc clutch for the evo.  that's prob why it feels a bit different.
