I am contemplating the install of some 48" x 16"ish x 6" drawers for the back of my tacoma and have some design questions. Since this is the smartest board I belong to I thought I would ask here.

There will be two drawers centered between the tubs for the wheels and the entire assembly will be covered by an aluminum sheet that takes up the entire floor of the truck. Just like this... http://www.4are.com/product/pickup_vault/ but they don't make one for my model. It has 6foot bed.

I want the assembly to be strong enough to hold a motorcycle on top and will be using 500lb slides for the drawers.

1) what type of aluminum (dimensions and thickness) should I spec for the legs and frame.
2) how thick should the aluminum floor be.
3) how close do the legs holding the frame up need to be spaced
4) how many crossbars do I need to span the 60 x 48" floor

You guys will probably have more and better questions for me so please ask!

That company offers that item in 3 lengths for the Tacoma, and the Tacoma bed comes in 3 lengths.  Why would one of them not work?

Unless I am mistaken the items listed under Toyota are for the 2007 and up Tundra. Do you have a link cause it would be great if they did.

Tundra, not Tacoma....Tacoma is the fitment need here, which based on wording and size, they are aiming for full size vehicle markets, and I suspect part of that is the weight involved with this unit and the long term suspension wear involved...

but on that site they do offer a "Custom Quote Form" for which it could be found out what they can do for you...
