Superbike quick-disconnect replacement

So I'm replacing the fuel lines on the 998, and while I have everything apart I figured I'd replace the brittle plastic disconnects with metal ones. One of them has already been done actually, so I have no idea why the previous owner didn't just replace both of them at the same time.

I've actually done this before when I had the 996, so I feel extra-dumb with having to ask...

What crazy-ass wrench do you need to remove the female connectors on the tank? I can't seem to get enough clearance to use any of the tools I own. I know I've done this before (even found the old thread concerning it), but I can't for the life of me remember how!

I've done it as well and can't remember either.

I eventually settled on the "break bits off the top until a socket fits over it" method of removing the female plastic fitting.

(It's 16mm, by the way.)

Now to install the new metal fitting, put the fuel line assembly back together, and see if this was my problem or just a thing that needed done anyway.

Fuel lines and connectors now replaced.

Managed to avoid leaking gasoline and lighting myself on fire, to boot.
