Termi ECU (ABS) - $1400?
«

I'm looking to purchase a set of termi carbon slip-ons for my 2010 696 ABS. I found what looks to be a good deal online for a set of used exhausts for about $1000, including the air filter and ECU. The problem is that the ECU is not the ABS version and so won't work with my bike.
I'm told by my dealer that the ABS ECU alone, if purchased separately, is approximately $1400, making it uneconomical to purchase the used system. Given the fact that my dealer has an interest in selling me a new system, I just wanted a sanity check from the forum. Does that figure sound right for just the performance ECU and is it consistent with what people have been quoted before?
Many thanks.

I have a bridge to sell you.
I was looking at the Termi system for my non-ABS 696 and the total price was ~$1500 ish. I don't remember if that price included installation, but I'm pretty sure that the dealer who quoted you is adding in some serious profit margin.
Ciao!

Untrue. DP want's to sell complete systems and prices individual components rather high. $1,400 is pretty high though just for the ECU. My recollection is that the ECU alone is ~ $800+ in the U.S., MSRP.

That seemed high to me too. So long as the ECU was under $300 or so, the used system would be a good deal. Above that amount, I might as well go with a new system.

I was going to make a smart ass remark, but...

just get your current ECU reflashed. It should be under 300 but you'll have to check.

I paid $1,400 for a new, complete system for my 2010 696 ABS, price includes installation. Came with air filter also.

I'm getting quoted about $1700 out the door for a new system, including installation and taxes. I've called around and haven't found a better deal, so have decided to go ahead with it. This is basically my way of bribing myself so that I don't buy an 848 or 1199 for another year or two.

I paid about $1400 for my DP S4Rs ecu. That was before anyone could flash them and I wanted an Arrow system - so yes that is about the right price for a new DP ecu.
