well the 1199 has 200cc ontop of the D16 and about 5 years of technology. the D16 doesnt put out the same power as the motogp version does (because i think current motogp bikes put out something in the 260hp range.

yes, but the development of the technology that is in the D16RR paved the way for the 1199...and nowadays, you can get a D16RR for about half of what they were selling for then...all things considered though, it is still the bike that Bayliss blew the field away on at Valencia in '06 and for just that I pay tribute!!!

Up close it's still just such an extraordinary bike with a lot of detailing and stuff you just don't get on a mass-produced bike.  A riding buddy of mine has a desmosedici and 1098 track bikes.  Both cool, but the dici is so much more exotic-looking and just oozes one-off race bike trickness.   Dolph In terms of sheer performance it wouldn't surprise me if the 1199 were nearly its equal, but I'm no where near capable enough to push either close to the limit.

A riding buddy of mine has a desmosedici...

This bike MUST make a showing next season.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw that—it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.
