Bike stalls randomly
«

I usually shut of my engine at long lights and when i restart my bike in neutral, ill clutch in, drop gear, and the bike stalls. This happens every now and then, i thought it might be clutch isnt being completely pushed out due to air, but if this was the case, it would happen more frequently wouldnt it? If i hold the clutch in at a light, the bike behaves fine, its just the random restart that kills the bike. This has been happening since my last oil change, I leveld of the oil between max and min with the oil temp at 120degrees to make sure it wasn't overfilled.
Any ideas?

I've done that .
side stand down would not allow the bike to even start.
and I woulnt put a side stand down at a light. thats just asking for trouble.

My bike will do the same thing right after it is started.
I figure it just doesn't like that, so I don't do it.
Let me guess:
Your shutting the engine down to save gas right?
IMHO...it's not worth it.
I'd rather waste a couple drops of gas to have the engine ready to get the hell out of dodge if necessary. To each their own.

Its 50/50 between gas and raging heat between my nuts. The whole being in 1st ready to get out of trouble doesnt apply where i am.
99% of the time, ive already lane split to the beginning of the light, and theres about 9 cars behind me. So even if my bike is on, if the guy behind me decideds to slam his gas on, im screwed. (I live in NYC) the other time i stop is when im in dead traffic, when its 90 outside, being stuck in a grid lock of cars cause a traffic cop decides she is the queen of the intersection(yes, she actally stops traffic and starts making hand gestures and screaming at the top of her lungs about why she controls the intersection) i just shut hte bike of and walk it a foot every few seconds.
I checked my neutral sensor, sidestand senosor, and clutch lever switch. nothing disconnected, luckly i have scheduled warranty issue comming up, so ill just not shut my engine off till then.

Well, Not necessarily IMO...
I have concluded that I have air in my clutch line due to overly cluncky shifting + the periodic inability to find neutral, but it doesn't do it all the time...
It's pretty much a toss-up..... Some days my bike will be cluncky while shifting, and other days it'll be fine. There's no way to predict it..
I just thought it was because the air bubble, wherever it is, is moving around and sometimes being a factor - sometimes not....
-I've posted about this many times, and the bottom line is that I just have to stop procrastinating + BLEED THE DAMN LINE!!
