I have searched and trawled posts all afternoon but can not find the answer. Will the adjustable Showa forks from a 1100 Monster fit an older style 2003 1000ie? I mean as in a direct fit, no farting around shimming and boring triples or changing callipers? My Monster was bestowed with the non adjustable Marzocchi forks (being a dark model). Thanks in advance for any info.

The new monster forks use the same triple sizes 50-54 but different brake caliper mounts and the forks are much longer. even the short 696 forks are longer.  also not sure if you have a 25 mm axle or not but that is the axle size for the 1100

Cheers Raux. They sold anyways  :-[ But it is useful info for next time. I am pretty sure they are 25mm axles the same as the S2R.

So it sounds like it could be done if you used the M1100 front brakes and wheel to match the forks.  It might look awkard if the forks had to be pulled too far up in the triples though.  A little bit looks all right, but after that it will look like a mismatch.

not sure where the forks change though. there is a mount area then the transition areas. and yes you would need the calipers and rotors if they offset for the M1000 rotors aren't 10mm

a caveat to that is that someone has reported the 796 rotors are 15mm so wonder if the 1100 evo are as well?
