I don't know about doing it on a ducati though, that would be a tuffy.

It's too dangerous to go down there now. I went there every year for weeks at a time on surf trips in the early 90's and it was sketchy then. They would shake us down for a few bucks here and there. Now your gambling with your life, with bad odds, every time you cross that border. One of the last places on Earth I would spend any of my income.

Really, that bad? A friend has been after me to do an offroad car trip with an outfit called wide open Ensenada or some such. He's done it a couple of times with no probs, but you're giving me 2nd thoughts.

Oh, it's just the luck of the draw I guess. Maybe you'll be fine. Maybe not. There are plenty of reports that you will be fine and plenty that you won't. I'd rather spend my money going to Hawaii, London, Australia, Canada, the US, etc, etc.

I'm certain the murder rate at Yellowstone is lower. More bears though.

It's the buffalo you gotta watch for. People know to avoid bears, but they think buffalo are like cows... mellow and docile. Nope, bigger faster and can develop a real attitude problem - and it doesn't take much. For example:
