Quick question-intake 'gaskets'?

Sorting out the M900, which had a history of the dreaded 'rising idle'.  'Nother words, it would idle fine in the driveway, but 5 miles out it would be 2000 or higher.

So, I'm retracing the possible intake leaks though I could find none.  One area was the intake 'gasket' areas since there are paper thin items in there now.  Is there a gasket part number for them, or is it a part to part fit with Permatex?

Thanks.

Gaskets.  Either they are leaking or not.  FI? Carbie?

Here's the thing.  When I did try the brake cleaner test while idling, there was no evidence of change in idle.  If there was, it would have signaled a leak in that area of intake.  Tried this in a few other possible 'intake' areas, no change in idle.

But. . I'm dinking around with the FCRs, pods, and a highly modified airbox and thought I'd work straight down to the intake gaskets.  Last time I went through the engine, there were paper thin gaskets.  Literally business-card paper thin, and I re-used them.  Perhaps replacing them would be preventive insurance.  I have a hunch that the change in idle is brought on with the engine heating up-possibly in that area (?)

It's a carby (hence FCRs).

The ignition module used on carburated monsters has an advance curve that would probably be more accurately described as an ignition curb.  If the idle speed should hit 13 -1400 RPM the advance kicks in and idle speed goes up.  See what happens if you lower the RPM by a few hundred and recheck throttle synch.  One nice thing about FCRs is easy idle speed adjustment.  Keep in mind dashboard tachometers are not always that accurate.

As far as Permatex goes on those gaskets, I wouldn't use it, if the OEM gaskets don't seal you have a problem that needs attention, but if you do, check this chart for gasoline compatibility.

My experience is none of those products are truly compatible, just resistant when used properly

Gotcha.

Do you have a part number for the gaskets?  I know I can fashion two out of gasket stock but was wondering if I could just get them for an easy install.

Should be cheap enough from the dealer.

I tried cutting some from gasket paper, but I'm not that artistic, so I ended buying them.

I don't have a part#, but I am sure Ducati Seattle or Commonwealth would be more than happy to help you out.
