I am looking at purchasing a new chain and sprocket set in the very near future can anyone recommend a setup I have heard that a 14t on the front is a bit smoother at slower speeds. I'm not bothered about top speed either !  [beer]

If you're replacing both sprockets consider adding teeth to the rear instead.

Most people that go to the 14t front do so because it's cheaper when the rear sprocket and chain are good.

It should be 15/41. I went up 2 in the rear on my 900 and it works for me.

A 14t front is closer to +3 in the back.

You can try different combinations and see what effect they'll have.

ca-cycleworks usually has good deals on complete set-ups.

I've had really good luck with Supersprox products and can recommend them without reservation.  I've installed ten or twelve sets and have had no failures or other problems.  If you buy the front, rear, and chain from them as a kit they'll give you a LIFETIME warranty on the whole shebang!  That's hard to beat, especially when you consider they're also one of the least expensive alternatives out there.

Up in the rear is smarter.  Down in the front is easier and cheaper.

I'm not very smart, so I went to a 14T.   ;D
