So the low fuel light on my '02 M620 is blinking and the readout blinks "Low fuel" constantly. Obviously the sender in the tank has gone belly up. Since I gauge my fuel by the odometer anyway, I was thinking to just cut the wires into the tank that run to the sending unit.
Two questions:
Will this work, and which wires should be cut?
Thanks.

I think it will.

There are 4 wires. The red and black pair are for the pump.

The other pair are for the sender.

The power is white on the sender I have here, and the wire gauge is smaller. The ground is also black for that pair.
