Monster Magnet

« on: April 20, 2012, 07:02:29 AM »

I need new rear rotors and pads for my 2005 Monster 620. I was going to go with the same OE Brembos but was wondering if its worth the extra coin for the EBCs. Any recommendations on what to get and what differences I might see would be appreciated. Keeping in mind its only a 620 and I'm just street riding no track. Thanks

As far as pads go, I like the EBCs (HH in front, RR in rear; I let LT decide the mix this time).  I had Ferodo race pads after the stock ones wore down.

Stock = OK
Ferodo = Strong initial bite with a progressive feel afterward
EBC = not quite as strong initial bite, but it doesn't tail off like the Ferodos

I probably replace pads more often than I strictly have to.  I haven't replaced rotors yet... just scotchbrite when the new pads go in.
