Quoting myself from the other Vario thread Roll Eyes

Just had an idea - maybe it's a bad one - bend the gear shift lever out to make it easier to reach.
Someone I know very well dropped his bike and ended up bending it inwards, but it wasn't broken - could "work" outwards as well?
(for those who have reach/foot-in issues)

I have zero issues reaching the shift lever, and my feet are size 10.5.  But I have the left peg adjusted back AND down.  When it was just adjusted back, reach was somewhat of a problem (but still not that big a deal.)

Of course, with the down and back adjustment, there can be clearance issues.  I dragged my left peg once so far on a tight hairpin near my house (never happened with the stockers.)  But I did a long ride today in the mountains with some other guys on the board (Hwy 33, Lockwood Valley, Cerro Noroeste and then back down the 33), and had no clearance issues at all.  And I was WAAAY more comfortable, even during extended, spirited twisties.  Huge difference for me.

I just rode 50 miles after installing MFW-Vario rearsets on my S2R-1K and the verdict is still out.  They are definitely more comfortable but I found it difficult getting to the rear brake and I missed a few gears.   I may try to modify my brake lever.
