just rebuilt the forks on my 750ss new bushes seals etc and put a new breather on as well as that was leaking went for a long 100 mile shakedown an 20 miles from home the damn main cambelt crank timing pulley oil seal; seems to have blown oil all over the place
arrrgghhhhh now will have to source a pulley tool as well as seals to fix this hassle .and the monster 750 also needs a full service shims etc too..it never end s.

oh yes also noticed that the lpw speed airscrews seem to vibrate tighter making the bike rich so back em off 1/2 a turn she runs nicer at low revs but 100 miles later they tighten up and the bike gets sluggish off idle .......hmmmmm

Sounds like splitting the case... sorry to hear that.

Cases don't need to be split.
Have others replaced the seal from the outside w/o splitting the case?  I recently found that I've got the same  timing shaft oil seal problem on my S2R1000 (my leak also appeared following breather valve replacement, though the breather works fine).  I can't clearly determine from the Ducati service manual CD whether I can pull the seal and replace it without splitting the cases.  The LT Snyder manual doesn't seem to mention this either.  I'm guessing that I'd want to gouge into the seal and pull it out with a hook w/o scratching case opening; I don't know whether one would be able to press in the new one from the outside; I'm not sure what to do.  I haven't started this fix yet, but I know I need to because I think I lose a cc or so every few hours of engine time and I have to wipe down the engine after every ride.

Thanks in advance.

The seal can be replaced without splitting the cases.

Sorry to hear.  Good luck.  Honestly, I've been having numerous issues with the ducati monster as well and like you said, it never ends.  Despite that, the bike is still a lot of fun and I am blessed to even have one. [thumbsup]
