Triumph has just announced a new touring bike based on their relatively new big triple.

I dig... but not so much that I am going to buy one.  I assume it will be like a K1200GT... not a bad bike for bombing down the highway in comfort, and not a bad bike in the twisties.  But damn, 662 lbs?  that's why I am on a Strom for touring and not a ST1300.

A local option for British motorcycle cops... instead of riding mit ze Germans, eh?

with all the gadgets I would think it to be a hit with the Iron butt crowd.

I would like to test ride one and see how it compares to the FJR 1300. Certainly if it's priced competitively you would be getting a little more for your money, if it rides and goes as well.

[thumbsdown] Not only is it butt-ugly, but at 662lbs it's clinically obese as well!

muskrat

especially if it's under Beemer's pricing.  I like it and love that she's an obese lady.  :P

I wish every angle looked that good.  The front end is kind of funky looking.  And what's up with that antenae.  I haven't seen one of those type since the early 80's.

My beef with this bike is it's completely middle of the road. It's unremarkable compared to current offerings on the market.

It's a bit too beefy, and by a bit I mean a lot. It's trying to bust into the Goldwing crowd.

I have to disagree with that. The weight is comparable to other bikes in its class. The FRJ is 644# (wet) while the ST1300 is 640# (dry w/ ABS). The Concourse 14 is 688# (wet? dry?). My K1200GT is also in that range. The Goldwing tips the scales at 900# and the HD Road King is at 775#.

Must not have parked there too long for the photo shoot - no oil on the ground underneath ;)
Desmosedici - it's the new Paso (except the bodywork doesn't fit as well)

Controlled seapage? Sorry, not made in Meriden. No drips under my Hinckley T-100 either after 4 years. Reliable as a stone ax. Made out of water pipe though.  ;) http://binged.it/MzRqiI

Agreed for my regular rides I'll take my Duc but if I had to do a cross country haul and was takin the Missus this would definitely be the preferred option.  (Goldwing not so much)
