New speedo/tach Gauge installed but how do you confirm the mileage?

Is the mileage stored on the ecu or the gauge it self?  my old Gauge im pretty sure had false mileage as well before it broke

Gauges
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
