Lots of Bounty towels. Hope you have a rear stand.  ;) The "Blue" will remove a lot of the crap as it goes on.

A little is OK. Is the chain THAT dirty? The Blue does a fair job of cleaning as it goes on. Your choice.

If you have a few days, just dip the chain in ATF fluid.  Does a great job cleaning crud.  Then you can rinse it in kero to kill the smell, then coat in DuPont.  Piece 'o cake!

I used to remove the chain and soak it too, but Chris at ca-cycleworks recommends just flooding the chain with lube, which floats off crud.

with an o-ring chain, that's sufficient.  removing it and immersing it is overkill imho.  dirt doesn't get into the oring.

papertowls to catch overspray, spray to soak the section of chain, move wheel, repeat.

let it sit overnight to drip of excess.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Update on Walmart. Check the store inventory on-line before you go. Hit one big one on Monday and they were clueless. Well..., they are ALL clueless. Found another Walmart on-line, the only one out of 5 in the Richmond, VA area which had inventory. Near the Auto section there is a tiny motorcycle section. Found three cans of Chain Saver @ $6.95 each there and cleaned 'em out! Just check before you take a long drive. ANYTHING is 30+ miles for me as I'm out in the sticks.  8) Took the car as Richmond set a new record of 103 F today! Wuffff...

... Record high temperature set at Richmond VA...

A record high temperature of 103 degrees was set at Richmond VA at
203 PM today. This breaks the old record of 101 degrees set in 1980.
