Marving mid-pipe O2 sensor?

Hi. Have S2R1000 and am about to install cored stock cans, ceramic coated Marving mid-pipe and DP open airbox. I've removed all the exhaust/cat converter at the weekend. The midpipe has a port for the lambda/O2 sensor.
Question is: should I be re-plugging the sensor in before I take it in for the ECU re-map - or does the lambda sensor need to be taken out of the system altogether? Does the lambda sensor still serve a 'useful purpose' after the mods I'm proposing or not?

If it does need to be 'disconnected', what are my best options for plugging the remaining hole in the pipe? - bearing in mind that it has been ceramic coated in black, as well...

Thanks in advance. Tim

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong....

Let it stay in (new, but same) place until you get your reflash.

Your mods might result in so much better breathing that it will not get enough gas without the DP spec reflash - that's not too healthy for the engine.

Thanks - understand the logic in that. And what about AFTER the reflash? Is the O2 sensor totally "redundant" then, or does it still benefit performance?

Sorry, I'd be asking the guy I was planning on getting to do the reflash these questions, but I can't get hold of him today...

I'm not sure what happens with the sensor on a reflashed 1000 Monster.

You have the stepper motor / closed loop thing - my experience is with an 800 without stepper and for me the sensor is disconnected.

If you don't get specific 1000 answers here, try to PM someone with a S2R 1000 or read up on the closed loop mod sticky thread [thumbsup]

Just an update to this - for anybody who stumbles across the thread with the same issue - sensor is completely gonski and post fuel trim adjustment the S2R has been running like a bird ever since. Plug the hole!

Al little late, but yes. Unless told otherwise, when the ECU gets re-flashed, you ditch the O2 and plug the hole.
