S4Rs oil drain plug over tightened... yes another one

So I decided to change the oil on my newly acquired 07 s4rs. I had changed the oil many times on my old 696 with no issues and thought this would go fine as well.

I found the torque values from the torque sticky in the tutorials section. 42nm was apparently the value from the shop manual. as most of you probably know that is completely wrong. I think i must have got about 25nm out of it but it just seemed wrong as my crush washer was literally squishing over the sides. I haven't tried to back it out yet for fear that it wont tighten again. i will order a new plug and washer tomorrow, but in the meantime with this information does anyone know if have have stripped the threads? i'll go for a ride the morning to see if i get any leaking, but right now it seems ok.

any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

oh and is there a way to get that value removed from the sticky? or at least a cautionary note added next to the torque value?? i know there are have been a few other new S4rs owners recently and id hate to see someone else ruin their oil drain threads...

That's only about 20 ft lbs of torque. I think you are fine and would know if you stripped the threads by the bolt getting looser as you continued to tighten... If you do think the threads are stripped I wouldn't ride it because the plug could come out and dump oil on your rear tire... I would back it out and take a look if you're that concerned.

the old large plug is 43nm, the small one on the deep sump 20nm.

the alloy washer is 85250261A i think, but a copper version is 85250421A and more durable.

Thanks guys. Just went and checked it. I was able to crack the bolt open and then tighten it again. The hex edges are a bit rounded but I think I dodged a bullet there.

I'll still be ordering a new plug and washer but at least the threads seem intact.

All I know is that it takes a 5mm hex tool. If the invoice on the replacement plug I ordered has any info I'll reply again...
