Just an oil change...any shop will do?

Quick questions, i have a bike shop close by and was wanting to take my bike in for an oil change  instead of taking it to my dealer which is much further away.  Would that be ok, just an oil change, should i trust them with my ducati.  not looking for anything other than an oil change....Ducati monster 696 2011

i'm a mechanical moron(i know, why do you have a bike then...)..anyway, i did to the tail chop and put on some mods but i just a little scared to get in there and then get confused and be stuck.  Now would i like to watch someone so that i know for sure the next time...YES....but that usually can't happen, so what do you think...should i trust them in doin it?

If yes, then sure. Just make sure they use a moto specific oil and a quality filter.

Where are you located, maybe one of the board members will give you a hand the first time.

And honestly - it's DEAD SIMPLE. No harder (actually probably EASIER) than changing the oil in your car.

I think you could have saved a penny or two if you'd have just gone to AutoZone and buy stuff yourself.
My bike (2012 1100 EVO) did not get any more than 3qt. I use Mobil1 Racing 10W-40 and K&N 153, but the stuff you've got there is good.
5100 is a synthetic blend. 300V is the snitz.

As noted you can roll down to AutoZone (if around) and buy Mobile 1 moto 10w-40 off the shelf. Every time I've done so (buying 4 bottles) I end up with a couple bucks off, per bottle at the register.

And as noted, K&N filter #153 fits ducs. AutoZone does not generally stock it on the shelf but they can get them in a day or two. So if you plan ahead they can get you set up.

The only other items are the crush washers. If you dont' have a bike shop handy take the spent ones to any real Auto parts shop (AutoZone is a maybe) and have them pull matches. Get a dozen or so of each - they are cheap as chips and it's wise to have extra on hand incase you mangle one.
