1999 Monster M900 City

I didn't ride for 3 weeks.  So I rode today, mostly freeway.

First I filled up with gas. Then I took it on the freeway and 2 miles up, it died. It ran out of gas! I was hitting the throttle and nothing.

So I sat by the side of the freeway and did an inspection. Moved the fuel line around, etc. Then I got it to start!!!

I rode for 50 miles ok,  BUT...

Now I think the throttle is sticky. When I am coming to a stop. it is still idling a little high. Not high enough to be concerned.

If I am in nuetral and I do a quick twist, the throttle will go all the way down to a normal idle.

So, what can I check? Is it something exterior that I can look at and maybe hit with some WD-40?

Or is it all internal and I have to get it to the shop?

Thanks for your suggestions.

if you have a pinched fuel line (just less pinched than when it died) you might have that problem.  It could also be junk from the bottom of the tank restricting the flow.
